The United States has issued the first passport to allow people who do not identify as male or female to use an “X” gender designation.The US joins a handful of countries - including Australia, New Zealand, Nepal and Canada - in allowing its citizens to designate a gender other than male or female on passports.Dana Zzyym of Fort Collins, Colorado, received the passport after being in a legal battle with the government since 2015 after failing to check either male or female on an application.“I’m not a problem.
