Michigan school shooter’s parents aren’t showing ‘any remorse’ in jail, sheriff says | New York Post

The parents of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley have shown “no remorse” since being charged in connection with their teen’s slaughter of four students at school last week, a law-enforcement official says. James and Jennifer Crumbley have appeared “sullen” in their separated sections of the Oakland County jail, Sheriff Michael Bouchard told MSNBC on Saturday. “They’re not talking much to us,” Bouchard said. “We’ve not seen any remorse.” The parents were apprehended Saturday hiding out in an art studio in Detroit. They were arrested for allegedly giving their son access to the newly bought 9mm handgun he used in his slay spree while also knowing there were deeply troubling warning signs about his behavior. The couple is accused of withholding such information from officials when they were summoned to the school on the day of the shooting to discuss disturbing drawings a teacher found on Ethan’s desk. #EthanCrumbley #SchoolShooting #MichiganShooting The New York Post is your source for breaking news, news about New York, sports, business, entertainment, opinion, real estate, culture, fashion, and more. Detroit artist suspected of helping Ethan Crumbley’s parents hide from cops | New York Post

A Detroit artist has been identified as the person suspected of helping accused Michigan high school shooter Ethan Crumbley‘s parents hide from cops, according to a report Sunday. Andrzej Sikora, 65, allegedly allowed James and Jennifer Crumbley to hide out in the basement of an art studio in the Motor City, WJBK-TV said in a report. “They didn’t break in,” Detroit Police Chief James White said. “Somebody let them in.” Sikora has not been charged in the case, but authorities believe he gave the Crumbleys sanctuary as cops launched a manhunt for the couple. The artist’s lawyer, Clarence Dass, told WBK that his client “voluntarily contacted police after the Crumbleys were arrested and charged. “He maintains his innocence throughout this process and is fully cooperating with law enforcement to assist in their investigation,” Dass said. #EthanCrumbley #MichiganShooting #NewYorkPost The New York Post is your source for breaking news, news about New York, sports, business, entertainment, opinion, real estate, culture, fashion, and more. American Airlines booted Brooklyn couple over religious shawl: lawsuit | New York Post

An elderly Brooklyn couple was booted from an American Airlines flight because they refused to place a bag containing their sacred prayer shawl on the floor, according to a lawsuit. Roberto and Elana Birman were heading home from Miami on Flight 322 in August when the “humiliating” incident unfolded, they told The Post. Roberto, 76, and Elana, 71, brought only a briefcase, a purse and his Tallit bag — a small, 8.5 inch-by-8.5-inch, clear plastic carrier for Roberto’s prayer book and shawl — onboard. They sat in aisle seats across from each other. A flight attendant began checking overhead bins ahead of take off, pulled the Tallit bag from the overhead bin, and asked, “Whose is this?” When Roberto claimed it, she allegedly threw the bag on his lap and said it had to go under his seat, the couple said. “It’s a religious item, it cannot go under the seat,” Roberto explained, removing his baseball cap to reveal his kippah covering his head and explaining that as an Orthodox Jew, he is forbidden to place the precious shawl on the floor. #AmericanAirlines #Religion #NewYorkPost The New York Post is your source for breaking news, news about New York, sports, business, entertainment, opinion, real estate, culture, fashion, and more.
