Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso said a second aftershock measured a magnitude of 4.8 with a third at 3.7. Eleven of the deaths occurred in the El Oro province, with one in Azuay. One of the deaths occurred when the facade of a building fell on top of a car, killing the person inside, officials said.
