Ukrainian animal rescue organisation Zoopatrul Ukraine has rescued over 1,000 cats and dogs from war during the last 11 months. "One of our last rescue missions showed us a horrible picture of what is happening to pets near the front line," said one of the rescuers and member of the organisation. Zoopatrul Ukraine has recently rescued animals from the liberated cities and villages of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Donbas region. The organisation wrote on their social media platforms: "We would dismantle walls, kick the doors down, get on the balconies and roofs, and do everything possible and even a little impossible to save the lives of pets."
