
Right now, after so many years of superhero movies, we have gotten used to seeing very familiar actors and actresses as our favorite superheroes. But in this list, we are going to show you people who had turned down the roles of superheroes, and they eventually became the biggest names in Hollywood, and a few of the actors and actresses have missed their chance to tackle up a career-defining role and have become unknowns. Here are 7 actors who came very close to becoming an iconic superhero:
1. ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
When the Incredible Hulk series was being filmed, the actor, Richard Kiel had been cast as Hulk but he had been fire and Lou Ferrigno and Arnold Schwarzenegger were on the list to play the Green Goliath. Ferrigno was taller than Schwarzenegger and got the role.

2. TOM WELLING
When the Supergirl show had been created, the producers had included a lot of cameos a few actors who starred in previous Super movies and shows. But Welling had turned this down, and he said that he was past that point in his life.

3. EMMA STONE
The actress Hayden Panettiere played the role of the character, Claire, on Heroes. She had beaten Emma Stone for this role. The Academy Award winner had auditioned for a role on the show but did not get it.

4. LIAM NEESON
Liam Neeson had played the role of Ra’s al Ghul once, and so when the Arrow producers wanted to bring back Ra’s al Ghul role, they had asked Neeson, but he said that he did not have time.

5. KATIE HOLMES
Sarah Michelle Gellar was not the first choice for Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The actress, Katie Holmes was supposed to get this role, but she had turned it down.

6. JASON STATHAM
Statham was in a lot of negotiations with Marvel for starring in the season 2 of Daredevil as the character, Bullseye. Many claims have then surfaced, and Statham soon left the role. A few have said that he asked for too much money.

7. ALEXANDRA DADDARIO
Alexandra Daddario was a finalist for playing the role of the character, Jessica Jones in the Marvel series. The role had gone to job went to actress Krysten Ritter.
