It is not much difficult to draw cartoons compared to the unenviable task of turning it into reality, and there are various cosplayers who will tell you how difficult it is to create a real-life version of a comic book character. Fortunately, the movie makeup technology has evolved enough to let the comic book inspired films pull off the looks perfectly. In fact, there are movies that try to avoid the typical makeup. To play Thanos, Josh Brolin didn’t have to use makeup, but, he wore a motion capture suit and the CGI team later gave him the look. However, there are directors who lean towards the “old school” approach and emphasize on as much makeup as possible since fans like it more.

There are many actors who manage to avoid it, but, some have to bear the process for famous roles. They include Zoe Saldana in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jennifer Lawrence in the X-Men movies. However, there are others that have to put up some really difficult makeup hours for only a few minutes of screen presence. It is fascinating to see how a lot of actors are okay with spending hours, sitting in a chair while people color their skin and add other things, despite knowing that they will play only tiny roles in the movie. In fact, they spend a lot more time doing makeup then they spend on filming. This shows how keen they were to be a part of the process. Here we present 15 actors from Marvel inspired movies including the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the X-Men franchise, who had to put up a lot of makeup for brief screen appearance.
