Pardon Bush for Warcrimes he commited? Uhm, lets NOT

“My fellow Americans,” Bush said, “at long last, we have reached the end of the dark period in American history that will come to be known as …

Should US congress pass a bill giving retroactive immunity to President Bush (and administration) for possible war crimes they have committed?

My I remind you a quote of his speach he made?

Bush concluded his speech on a note of healing and redemption.

“We as a people must stand united, banding together to tear this nation in two,” Bush said. “Much work lies ahead of us: The gap between the rich and the poor may be wide, be there’s much more widening left to do. We must squander our nation’s hard-won budget surplus on tax breaks for the wealthiest 15 percent. And, on the foreign front, we must find an enemy and defeat it.”

“The insanity is over,” Bush said. “After a long, dark night of peace and stability, the sun is finally rising again over America. We look forward to a bright new dawn not seen since the glory days of my dad.”

  1. Not a chance.

The Geneva Convention is in place for a reason.

And politicians know all about the Geneva Convention, even more so do the Foreign and Military advisers to Mr. Bush,

But Bush wanted to deliberately disregard them, then cover his ass with a proviso granting him retroactive immunity for war crimes.

That’s rubbish, and is not the first time Bush has taken it upon himself to override “convention” and “protocol” to his benefit.

I clearly recall the acts of aggression towards Iraq, and how bush said, “I don’t care if the U.N. vetoes the motion; we are going to go ahead with it anyway”.

Way to go, way to piss on a sterling example of a humanitarian, peace oriented organisation, and for pissing on all the democracy and international stature it stands for.

    The man is a joke.
